The title of this post reflected a day in my life. Early last week I was approached by a professional association to speak at their annual conference in Las Vegas. The lady I spoke with seemed quite excited to add me to their program. I was immensely flattered and a bit more proud of myself than I should have been.
Pride certainly does goeth before a fall ...
A mere few hours later as I and the good folks who work with me were going through the final details of a teleseminar we had scheduled for the next day, it occurred to me that I might have failed to actually secure a vendor to provide a bridge line. Can you say "Oh My Gosh! ..."
You see, this teleseminar was the third session in a three-part series and we had a vendor -- Great Teleseminars -- which does a wonderful job.
After teleseminar #2, I thought I had secured the date and time for session #3 in an e-mail with Dan Janal, the owner of Great Teleseminars. The problem is that I put the order in a PS (yes, if you read Dan's blog, he references the situation -- and rightly so). Because of the PS, I mentally checked that task off my to-do list and moved on to the numerous other projects we were working on. I never gave it a second thought ... until the day before the teleseminar. Dan is very efficient in responding to these orders with confirmation and dial-in numbers and I realized that I never received that confirmation. Gulp!
We went into recovery mode and searched the internet for other bridge line providers but long story short -- Dan and Great Teleseminars came through for us. He got everything I needed in place in a short period of time. We had the teleseminar and it went great.
Moral of the story ... well, there are two. The first is: Don't get cocky and never take your eye off the details. And the second is, if you are planning on conducting a teleseminar, you won't get better service and higher quality than Great Teleseminars.
When you call Dan, be sure to tell him that the "PS Lady" sent you.
I like the new look of your blog. Keep up the good work!!!
