A recent post commented on Peter de Jager's playful advice for speakers. As a result of that post, Peter and I have been in communication and he's updated the list. It will brighten your day. Take a look here.
He also has a list for meeting planners. Enjoy.
Peter's suggestions are great but I've found that it is hard to convince speakers in our business (financial types) that they need any advice on speaking. These folks tend to be top drawer practitioners who know their topic inside and out - and they all think that is enough. It is hard to convince them that they need to work on delivery or not fill up power point slides with text or bring energy and enthusiasm to their presentations. The few who do take the time to work on presentation skills will see it pay off.
